Ms. Nisha Shenoy Parent of Ved Damodara

An unbelievable journey! Regular schooling disrupted by the pandemic kids were locked inside their homes, confined to a virtual environment for most of their social and emotional needs. Like every other parent, I too was skeptical about online education, and whether or not my child would benefit from it at all. My husband (@vdamodara) was very convinced that that Is the right thing to do. And it turned out so. We had immense faith in @podarprepkokapet, the amazing academic team Bindu Gaddipati has under her wings, where child is paramount in every decision they make. Whether it is a mid-term admission like in our case when we took Ved for the first time to her, we knew we had found the right learning space for Ved, a child whose needs to explore was way beyond his age and speech, quite often being interpreted as a difficult behaviour by educators. But never once at Podar prep did they ask the child to curb their natural instincts. At Podar, every child is unique and was given the space to explore, learn and bloom at their own pace. That is the real distinction between online school versus a homeschool play learning connection, a curriculum designed to cater to the various needs of the child, academic, creative, physical, sensory and social needs. And in the end, we saw all the children perform so beautifully on their graduation day, singing, dancing and doing the unbelievable, a 4 minute power point presentation on the various aspects of environment. I had debated inside my head as to why a kindergartener needs to be put through this ordeal. But when we saw the result of their efforts on the graduation day, it was heartwarming to see the young minds aim for the sky! Well, sky isn’t the limit anymore! 🚀

Special thanks and a heart full of gratitude to @anusha_devarsetty for being so awesome as an educator. The world needs more teachers like you 🧡

A pre-school that believes in holistic development of a child along with formal education. The pedagogy is tuned to benefit a child with a learning and seeking mindset vis a vis a mindset of mugging things for the sake of knowing them. The virtues and ethics practiced by the school in their conduct reflect on the child’s behavior too. The teaching and the admin staff are very reasonable and have a great listening attitude to help the guardians/parents in solving problems that they might face during the upbringing of a child. Every child is unique and every child should blossom is the mantra followed at Podar Prep Kokapet. The director of the school, Mrs Bindu Gaddipati comes with a very great mindset of being a contributor towards making great young global citizens who can serve the humanity and the nation in making the world a great place to live in. Her vision, wisdom and kindness along with a disciplined and organized approach towards running the school is clearly depicted in every manner of the services be it the aya amma’s, driver bhaiyas or pre-meal schedule intimations, communication with parents. A safe haven where the child learns to learn in a happy way and loves to go is Podar Prep Kokapet campus. The building follows fire and other safety procedures. Classrooms are airy, ventilated. Campus is equipped for young kids and their interests like music room, activity room, play area. There is an open walk in library for any child to just pick any book, be it feel touch or learning to read series of best books from worldwide publishers. The gymnastic room is equipped for young hoppers to gain confidence with total care of not having any incident of hurt. This is a pre-school where parents and teachers are equal participants in a child’s growth and come together for making a happy family, happy school and in turn a happy responsible citizen.

Excellent campus dedicated only for playgroup, and primary kids. And very experienced and passionate staff. The teaching staff has a very good background and experience in the field unlike the other playschools in this area. The campus is so huge and designed exclusively for the little children, I have not seen anywhere else the outdoor activities for little kids like here at Podar Prep, Kokapet campus. They have well defined outdoor curriculum and classroom curriculum keeping in mind about little kids and their needs for their age. After comparing other playschools and primary schools in and around Kokapet, I felt this is a perfect combination of indoor and outdoor activities. I enrolled my son on the first day of my visit to Podar Prep, Kokapet. It’s been 3 months now, my son loves his playschool especially teachers, friends and all the activities. Ms.Bindu has a rich background in this field and she has served as the Director in other schools which are in this league from a long time. The entire staff is very passionate about making this school a top play/primary school in Hyderabad. For parents in search of play schools, please read my analysis below on the playschools/primary schools in this locality. Before making decisions at least visit Podar Prep Kokapet (Oppo Aparna Sarovar).

Even in this pandemic also the school is working equally hard on every child over the online classes also, the best part I like about the school is that they answer to each n every call of yours and discuss in detail about the issues we are facing, even the principal of the school ( Mrs Bindu Madam) is always there to discuss for any kind of problem and suggest what’s right n what’s not for your child. For her the kids are always the priority.

We are writing this mail to extend our warm thanks and appreciation towards you and your preschool for providing the impeccable environment that prepares kids to conquer the kindergarten raising the bar on a preschool experience. Since the day we joined Podar Prep, we are amazed by the outstanding commitment and excellence shown by the teachers and staff. Each and every teacher who has been with our child are fantastic. They have enriched the life of our child and really made an impact all positive and impressive. The place you have created is far more than a preschool. “What do you expect”, asked Ms. Bindu during our first meeting, “from us for your kid?” Our considered response was that “She should find learning interesting!”

When we look back at the 3 years that our ward has spent in Podar Prep Plus (PPP) at Nallagandla, we realise our ward has come out feeling and doing exactly that.

There are many things about PPP that one could highlight. To begin with, they are a stickler to details and time. Their communication to parents is not only timely but complete with all the relevant information. Their programs start and end on time – almost as if you could adjust your watch based on that. However, this is not the main thing – still our daughter has learnt the importance of time, the discipline to follow instructions and the art of listening itself.

Among the many things that have impressed us about PPP, three stand out: Inclusivity, Individual attention and Investment in education.

Inclusivity: In PPP we have seen kids from all strata and abilities. Every kid is given an equal opportunity and the support to realise it. No kid is left wanting, only feeling wanted. Our daughter did learn to make friends with kids of all hues and talents.

Individual attention: In the process, they know our children, perhaps, even better than we do – their strengths, their failings, the areas of improvement and the avenues where they need both parental control and cushioning. In the recently concluded “Graduation Day”, they had a few lines to characterise each of the school leaving kids – a characterisation that resonated with every parent present there. 26 kids … 26 unique and highlight worthy aspects! This comes only with constant monitoring and astute observation, even as the kids move from one class to another, from one teacher to another. Through it all the constants being the principal, Ms. Bindu and the two academic coordinators, Ms. Jaya and Ms. Dhamayanti. No parent decides on the next school for his/her ward without hearing the wise counsel of Ms. Bindu. We did too and learnt a lot about our daughter!

Investment in education: To us the administration of PPP does not seem to be in the monetising of education. How else would you read their messages to parents when they state “if you are repeatedly late the gates will not open for you ” or the one where they gently chastised the parents for not dressing appropriately when they come to drop / pick their wards. When an administration values its principles by which it would like to stand without the fear of losing patronage, you know you are on a tight learning rope.

Finally, PPP also appears to be one of those rare schools that has quit attrition. Most of the staff, not just the teachers but also the didi-s, have remained with the school for long. Even those who have taken a break, do come back to join. As we learnt later, precisely the feeling of many of the kids – they all want to go back to Podar! While PPP may have their reasons to wait before starting higher classes too, our daughter does not have that luxury. She has to go to a new school now. Thanks to Ms. Bindu and her team at Podar, she looks forward to going to the new school … “Learning” is, indeed, interesting for her!

Thank you.
